Serve Gewurztraminer wine chilled at 12 – 15 degrees. Suitable for an aperitif. Foie gras on a slice of bread, exotic foods, Asian and other spicy foods are wonderful pairings for Gewurztraminer wine. Also with strong cheeses. Definitely goes with dessert. Our village of Mittelwihr is sheltered from the cold north winds by the Mandelberg, a hill whose southern flank, facing South\/South-East, enjoys optimal sunshine throughout the year. The vines rub shoulders with the almond trees which gave their name to the Mandelberg or \u201chill of the almond trees\u201d, a name found on the bottles of Alsace wines from 1925.<\/p>\n

Marl-limestone soil composed of thick deposits of clay (marl) and calcareous pebbles, the power brought by the marl is supported by a beautiful acidity, long and complex. Of great nobility, the Mandelberg wines, already produced in the Gallo-Roman era, evolve towards a lemony character over time and age admirably by mineralizing, like the Riesling and Gewurztraminer that we produce.<\/p>\n
